Keynote presentation 3 - The interlinked relationship between financial performance and ESG

Open communication and trust between resources companies and shareholders is critical, especially in a time of heightened expectations around social performance. Against this backdrop, it is vital that resources professionals have a sound understanding of the relationship between financial and environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance, including an outline of the key drivers of ESG.

This keynote will cover a broad selection of relevant topics driving social and financial performance in the resources sector, including resource nationalism, regional instability, the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on investment markets and ESG, and how companies can improve engagement with stakeholders. Through the lens of professional standards, the keynote will examine how resources and finance sector professionals can work together to improve the social acceptance of mining projects and ensure access to capital.
