Head, Telstra Mining Services
Jeannette McGill is the Head of Telstra Mining Services and has 20 years mining sector experience and management skills. Her career started in mining production as a section and exploration geologist where she also became the 2nd woman in the Free State Province to be issued an underground blasting certificate. She holds a PhD from the Colorado School of Mines in Mining Engineering, Mineral Economics and Economic Geology. Previously as head of the CSIR Centre for Mining Innovation she lead research teams in applied programs focused on automation, robotics and in-mine communications. In addition she has exposure as a mining analyst responsible for evaluating streaming agreements for funding opportunities in North America. She joined Telstra from Anglo American Platinum where she was head of Technology and Innovation responsible for strategy development and investment into game-changing technologies impacting the way narrow-reef mining is undertaken. Now she ensures that the game changing technology in the mining sector can be enabled through the critical connectivity as deployed by Telstra Mining Services.
